I ended up missing out on Thanksgiving. My family never celebrates it, my grandparents were busy with other matters and I showed up at Mike's too late to eat with his family. I did end up eating a whole apple pie and half a pumpkin pie, though.
Mike had planned for us to get up at five in the morning the next day on Black Friday for the deals. Eating one and a half pies on Thanksgiving was not the brightest of ideas, as I suffered from a pie hangover the whole time. We went prancing around the Walmart aisles at six in the morning while singing that annoying yet ever-so-catchy
Lovefool song the whole time.
During our shopping spree, I picked up the supplies I need for my
Xurtahame plush. At the moment I have no images of him for you, as he is still a work in progress. I hope to complete him by January. He will probably end up being posted on my Deviant Art account after he is completed.
Sewing is a hobby that I have not spent much time doing as of late. The last time I sewed a plush was back during the summer. Plushies tend to be time consuming and requires new materials, fabrics, threads, etc. I was sewing my Xurt-a-plush, for example, from eight in the morning until five at night one day, and he still has a while until completion. I have been using some of my old shirts and jeans for fabric on him, as I don't have any money of my own to buy supplies with.
Speaking of sewing, I recently got around to organizing my sewing box. I had two problems, first off, my thread would roll around in it and get all tangled. The second problem is that the needles would just not stay in their little shelf.
I figured out that the best way to organize the thread would be to put them on some kind of rod. I was finally able to use my collection of rock candy sticks for this project. I poked them through bottle caps, making the bottle cap into a little stand for the sticks (The wooden ball on the rock candy sticks was in the bottle cap.) I made about seven of these little stands, then I pushed them all through an old mouse pad, in order to keep them from falling over in the sewing box. This also held them all together, and the little bottle caps acted like the legs for my mouse pad thread-holding table. This mouse pad fit perfectly into the bottom of my sewing box. I stack the thread on the rock candy sticks, which holds about three spools each (depending on the size of the spool.) In short, I found a practical use for all the junk that I horde that involved commencing in an overly-complicated and time consuming project. I do always feel so creative and accomplished when they are done, though.
Oh, and the needles? Yeah, no complicated project there. Mike suggested putting them on a fridge magnet, which worked perfectly.
Erm, moving on... The first snow fall of the year was on the last day of November (yesterday, if you recall?) It was perfect packing snow, which I used to make a super cute snow cat. Since I'm always playing the starving artist gig, and don't always have the money to finish my expensive art projects (feel free to scroll up and read about my Xurt-a-plush again?) it was nice to have a large supply of perfect sculpting materials delivered to me for free. I soon became preoccupied with it, and worked for three hours making the following snow statue:

I only wish I could of gotten more shots of its tail, as it curls around the lamppost. It is a very large cat, and it was exhausting to construct. How exhausting, I didn't really learn until today. I woke up so muscle sore that I can barely move at all. My arms, legs, back and every else ache horribly, and I usually like being muscle sore! Also while making my snow cat, I became soaking wet. Go figure today I would have an awful runny nose and a high temperature. ~_~
As I am aching and sick, I shall end this entry with yet another picture of Wyssu. Next entry will have a different character, I swear!
